Let's Get Started

Stage Lighting

Stage lighting allows people to see what's happening on stage. It can also create an atmosphere, setting the mood and tone for a performance or conference. Similarly, set lighting can be used to direct the eyes to critical parts of the stage, like where the action is taking place.

Event lighting fixtures should be LED and come in an array of fixture options that include ellipsoidal, fresnel and intelligent moving lights with spots, wash and gobos.

Uplighting & Accent Lighting

Uplighting & Accent Lighting

Uplighting can help to illuminate vertical surfaces in various colors. Colorful LED lights add a vibrant glow to walls, backdrops, draping, pillars, and more. Although they are called "uplights", these lights don't have to point straight up but can be angled.

Accent lights are used to emphasize specific elements, such as a podium or awards table. Light fixtures can be angled or set asymmetrically to add dimension and produce exciting and unique looks.

Gobo, LED & Intelligent Lighting

Gobo, LED & Intelligent Lighting

A gobo is a small circular disc used with lighting fixtures to create projected patterns or images. The term "gobo" stands for Go-Between Optics. This refers to the positioning required in the light fixture's path.

There are two main types of gobos: steel and glass. Steel gobos tend to be more basic, while glass gobos tend to have more detail and can be colored. There are also newer gobos made of plastic, which are specifically designed for LED lighting.

Gobos come in diverse diameters, from 20 to 150 millimeters approximately. Each gobo's diameter ultimately depends on the fixture. If the fixture is static, the projected pattern or image will be fixed. However, gobos can also use intelligent lighting fixtures to create moving designs or images in an event space

Planning lighting for an event is a detailed process. Preparation is essential. The purpose of the event as well as the amenities of the venue need to be defined. Lighting must also be aligned with the event activities and timeline.Creating a detailed project plan allows for a time-sensitive lighting design that is both functional and aesthetically appealing. When lighting an event, specific considerations need to be made, like highlighting high-traffic areas.Beyond these basics, it's then all about creativity. LED lights, colors, and movement can all be used to enhance the atmosphere and drum up excitement.

Uplights are a great way to play with the ambiance of a room. They can be used to place a visual accent on walls, draperies, backdrops, and more. Many different types of uplights are available. Two favorites are the GBGS Par Uplights and LaluceNatz PAR Lights. The GBGS lights provide 12 LEDs of green, blue, or red light and a diversity of working modes. You can also get a voice- and sound-activated model. The LaluceNatz models feature 18 LED bulbs, six each red, blue, and green, and an impressive wide-angle beam of 10 by 5 feet.

How Much Does Event Lighting Cost?

The costs of event lighting vary significantly depending on details like the size of the venue and what kinds of lighting fixtures are used. A lighting package can cost as little as $50 or more than $2,000.The scope of the event will ultimately determine the lighting needs and thus guide the cost of lighting. For example, if an event needs only some stage or set lighting, the fee will be smaller than if an event requires stage and set lighting, uplighting, and gobo lighting. Even within gobo lighting alone, costs can vary depending on the size, intricacy, and material of the gobo lights. The easiest way to figure out what the cost will be to light your event is to get a quote from a lighting professional.

How Does Stage Lighting Work?

Stage lighting relies on an intricate network of many different types of light fixtures. Ellipsoidal reflector spotlights, ERS, highlight defined stage pieces or subjects using a narrow beam. Parabolic reflectors, or PAR lights, are used as wash fixtures. They cover large areas of the stage and fill in the gaps left between spotlights.Fresnel light fixtures fall in-between these ERS and PAR lights, offering some zoom and focus function without the intensity of a spotlight. Finally, moving head lights serve various purposes, from beams to spots. They are, as the name suggests, mobile.
